Car Word Tracing

Raise your hands if your kids like to play with toy cars! It seems to be a common toy that most kids like to play with and most kids own a few. So what better way to make spelling words more fun, than by using a favorite toy.

Grab a toy car or toy and let’s do some car word tracing.

How to set-up: Set up can be as simple as grabbing a few cars and finding a flat surface. The floor is perfect. If you would like (and this is what I did in the pictures), use painter’s tape to make your words on the floor.

When it’s time to practice, use a car to trace your taped words by rolling it along the lines. Or just use the car to “write” the words.

Have your child spell the words out loud as they trace for a little added practice.

This is a fun and easy way to practice spelling words and one that will appeal to any kid who likes play with toy cars.
